The Pascal Pulse - Issue #14

Welcome to Issue 14 of The Pascal Pulse
Fandom moves in waves. There are the wild, exciting stretches when new roles, red carpets, and press tours keep us buzzing, and then there are slower seasons when news is scarce and we are waiting for the next spark. Those quiet times can be wonderful: a chance to create, connect, and breathe. But they can also be when negativity sneaks in. A single careless comment or joke can plant a seed that grows into something bigger and uglier than anyone intended.
We have seen it happen before. What began as small, offhand criticism of stylist Julie Ragolia turned into a wave of harassment that crossed lines and hurt a real person. Lately, we have watched similar behavior aimed at stylist Jamie Mizrahi. In the past we have seen unkindness directed toward journalist Ash Crossan simply for using the word “Daddy,” a nickname Pedro himself has embraced. And we have seen unkindness toward members of our own fandom too, people who are here to create, celebrate, and connect, yet have been hurt by careless words and piling on. These moments remind us how quickly teasing can tip into bullying and how easily a community can harm the very people who help celebrate and support Pedro.
Pedro once said, “I know how to get along with everybody, but it doesn’t mean I like everybody.” It is a simple but grounded reminder about navigating social spaces: being polite or civil does not mean you owe personal connection. We can curate our own online experience. We can block, mute, and move on when something or someone is not for us. Choosing not to engage is always an option. Attacking, harassing, or spreading hate is not.
It is easy to sit behind a keyboard and believe we would have handled a situation differently, but we rarely know the full story. Everyone comes from different places and life experiences. It is unfair to hold Pedro or anyone else to a perfect, unshifting standard when we ourselves live in a world full of complexity.
Life is not black and white. We all live and grow in the gray.
Many of us are neurodivergent or simply experience the world in different ways. That diversity is part of what makes this fandom creative and vibrant, but it also means we may read situations differently or feel things more deeply. It is important to lead with patience and kindness and also to remember the other side of that truth: just because we feel strongly about something does not mean everyone else will, or that they should. Sometimes our thoughts need to be shared, but sometimes in the heat of the moment it is better to pause, breathe, and think before speaking.
And to those of us who climb on our own soapboxes: remember that passion is good, but demanding that everyone act, feel, or respond exactly as we do can be unfair. We all falter. We all misstep. Growth happens when we give space for conversation, reflection, and grace, not when we shame each other for not reacting the “right” way.
When we feel restless during slower fandom seasons, it is easy to start jumping to conclusions, spreading half-truths, or letting small assumptions grow into something bigger. But the truth is, words matter. Seeds of cruelty can grow into bullying, and bullying can leave lasting harm.
We each hold a responsibility to keep this space kind, creative, and safe and to be like Pedro, protecting the people who need protecting most.
Our community has the chance to be different. We can keep this space vibrant by supporting fandom challenges like Pedrotober and the Pascal Homework Challenge, by sharing each other’s work, and by celebrating the talent and joy this community creates. Let’s reach out to new voices, welcome each other in, and make this space inclusive for every fan who wants to belong.
As Suicide Prevention Month comes to a close, it is a good time to remember that people are more than the small pieces we see online. Words have weight. Kindness can save space for someone who needs it. Let’s be the fandom that protects, celebrates, lifts each other higher, and welcomes everyone in. —The Editors 💌 | ![]() |

Looks like Pedro is keeping it low-key for now - no interviews, no red carpets, no big public appearances on the horizon. Honestly, I kind of love that, because it means he’s finally catching a breath after working nonstop and giving us so much. He totally deserves some quiet days to just live his life, recharge, and probably sneak in time with his family. And let’s be real, knowing him, he’s also secretly cooking up something exciting for the next role. | ![]() |
For now, we can just be happy he’s resting, because a well-rested Pedro means even more magic later.

Concept art drop!
This week we got a look at concept art of Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards / Mister Fantastic from The Fantastic Four: First Steps – The Art of the Movie.

Happy Birthday Joel Miller!
This week, Jackson’s most beloved (and definitely still alive, don’t argue with us) senior citizen, Joel Miller, celebrated his birthday. In true fandom fashion, we collectively agreed to ignore the cruel fate handed to him in both the game and the series. Instead, we picture him exactly where he belongs: sipping bad coffee, grumbling about patrols, and pretending his joints don’t ache when he gets up from the porch chair.
The Wild Robot - Still wild, Still Wonderful
We celebrated the anniversary of The Wild Robot’s cinematic debut - the moment Roz first blinked her eyes on the big screen. Released September 27, 2024, the film adaptation of Peter Brown’s beloved novel brought to life an island, animals, and a robot who learns the most human of lessons.
Pedro Pascal made us fall head over heels for Fink the fox in The Wild Robot, who was sly, witty, and secretly soft under all that attitude. Only Pedro could turn a scrappy little fox into the scene-stealing heart we never knew we needed. ![]() | ![]() What makes Fink unforgettable isn’t just his wit, but the layers Pedro brings: beneath the snark, there’s loyalty; beneath the teeth, there’s tenderness. He becomes Roz’s unexpected ally, the kind of friend who pretends he doesn’t care but would fight the world for you. Classic Pedro energy, making “reluctant protector” look effortless, even in fox form. |
