Welcome to Issue 22 of The Pascal Pulse
When SAG revisited those photos of Pedro Pascal’s 2024 win this week, it took us right back to everything that made that night so special. The emotion, the disbelief, the messy honesty and the huge heart behind it all. It also reminded us why so many of us show up for him year after year.
Pedro’s career has never been linear or predictable. From tiny Off Broadway stages to blink and you will miss it television roles, from years of grinding to now starring in major HBO hits and having three films streaming at once, his journey is a testament to following the work, trusting the process and never settling.
And that is a big part of why we support him.
Not because every project has to be everyone’s personal favorite. Not because each role fits a particular mold. But because he chooses his work with intention, curiosity and integrity.
We admire that he takes risks. We admire that he collaborates widely with studios, creators, genres and platforms that challenge him or excite him. And we admire that he continues to grow, evolve and surprise us.

Occasionally, conversations in the fandom can drift into questioning those choices, what he works on, who he partners with or whether a project fits neatly into someone’s expectations. But the truth is, that has never been the heart of what it means to be a fan.
For us, supporting Pedro means appreciating the full arc of his journey, not just the chapters that match our preferences. It means celebrating the artist he is, not the version anyone wants him to be. It means trusting the instincts that brought him from a little boy shouting “HBO! HBO!” around the living room, to a man whose work now lives at the center of the biggest stories in entertainment.
He chases his dreams, not ours, and that is exactly what makes his path worth celebrating.
Our support comes from a place of admiration, respect and genuine joy in watching him do what he loves. Every project reveals something new about him as an artist and that is what we choose to celebrate.

Sarah Paulson to Receive Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and Maybe a Surprise Guest?
Sarah Paulson will be honored with the 2,829th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday, December 2nd at 11:30 AM PT at 6533 Hollywood Boulevard. The ceremony will celebrate her incredible career in television, with Holland Taylor and Amanda Peet set to speak and Dayna Devon emceeing the event.
The ceremony will be streamed live at walkoffame.com, and honestly… with Paulson’s longtime friendship with Pedro, who knows? Maybe we’ll get a little surprise appearance from him, too. We can dream!

The Mandalorian & Grogu Set for Their Biggest Adventure Yet
In the January issue of Empire Magazine, released this week, fans were treated to new insight into the upcoming The Mandalorian and Grogu film and it’s all about the bond at the center of the story.
Jon Favreau shared that the movie will spotlight the relationship between Din Djarin and Grogu, the emotional core that has defined the series since the beginning.
“That central relationship, as they go off and face adventure together, that’s the underpinning of the film,” Favreau tells Empire.
A clan of two, stepping into their biggest screen and their biggest journey yet.

Ari Aster’s Eddington Screenplay Now Online
Ari Aster’s newest film Eddington just dropped a major treat - the full screenplay is now available to read online. The script gives an early look at the tense, surreal COVID-era Western and includes Pedro Pascal’s role as Ted Garcia, a New Mexico mayor caught in the center of the town’s unraveling.
You can read the full screenplay here:
Happy reading, it’s a wild one.

Celine Song’s Materialists Screenplay Is Also Now Online, Featuring Harry, the Unicorn Among Men
Celine Song’s Materialists screenplay has officially been released online, giving fans their first full look at the sharp, sparkling world she’s created and at Pedro Pascal’s character, Harry, a man described as the kind of impossibly perfect “unicorn” who barely exists in real life.
In the script, Harry stands out as the idealized blend of wealth, charm, intelligence, ease, and magnetic presence the kind of man everyone wants, and the kind of role Pedro was born to devour.
You can read the complete screenplay here:
Avengers: Doomsday Leaks
There has been a steady stream of Avengers: Doomsday leaks lately, some accurate and others not quite hitting the mark. The much discussed “Reed’s jacket” leak seems to be close to the truth but not exactly what it appears. What does seem more grounded is news that Kelsey Grammer is returning as Beast, along with other original X-Men, and in a recent interview he mentioned working with Pedro. It is a small but exciting glimpse at how the worlds of the Fantastic Four and the X-Men might finally collide.
In Case You Missed It: Trixie Mattel’s Pedro Moment on The Bald and the Beautiful
In Case You Missed It: Trixie Mattel’s Pedro Moment on The Bald and the Beautiful
Remember when Pedro was at Chappell Roan’s concert in Pasadena, California, on October 12, alongside Sarah Paulson and Jason Butler? Trixie Mattel just shared the full story of their moment together and it’s perfect.
Trixie, who opened the show, said she walked right up to Pedro, hugged him, and then told him, “When are you gonna give up this acting shit baby, I see you in gowns.”
She shared the moment again in her Instagram reel, and Pedro slid into the comments with the perfect response: “Ready and waiting.”
Pedro as a drag superstar? Honestly… the world is ready. 💅✨

Flashback Files: Dante Basco Remembers High School Pedro
On a recent episode of The Joe Vulpis Podcast, Dante Basco revealed that he and Pedro went to high school together at the Orange County School of the Arts.
Dante said Pedro was “always one of the dopest actors in our class”, even back then. He described him as an awkward teen in his own world, but also incredibly smart, sharply opinionated, hilarious, and full of strong points of view, exactly the Pedro we know today.
The two even performed a scene from David Rabe’s Hurlyburly together. And in the most relatable twist, Dante joked that they were not among the school’s strong singers. Their class was filled with powerhouse voices, including Monique Powell, who went on to become the lead singer of Save Ferris. Dante said he and Pedro eventually just ditched singing class altogether because, as he put it, “it’s not for us.”
Starting to Stream: Miss Carbón Lands on Netflix in Argentina December 19, be on the Lookout
Lux Pascal stars in Miss Carbón, the powerful true story of Carlita Rodríguez, the first woman to work as a coal miner in a region where only men had ever taken on the job. After its festival run and theatrical debut in Argentina, the film will begin streaming on Netflix in Argentina on December 19, with a US release coming soon.
We are so excited to see her take on this transformative, history-rooted role. Miss Carbón is definitely one to watch and keep an eye on as it begins rolling out globally.
Richard II Extends Off-Broadway - With Major Praise for Lux Pascal
Red Bull Theater’s acclaimed Off-Broadway production of William Shakespeare’s Richard II has officially extended its run. Originally scheduled to close on November 30, the production, which began performances on October 29 at the Astor Place Theatre, will now continue to run for two additional weeks, through December 14 due to strong demand.
Alongside Michael Urie’s celebrated lead performance, critics have singled out Lux Pascal as a standout in the ensemble. Stage and Cinema praised her work as “electric and arresting,” noting the sharp emotional clarity she brings to every moment onstage. Culture Sauce echoed this, highlighting Lux’s presence as “striking, grounded, and unforgettable,” calling her one of the production’s unexpected revelations.

From Chile, With Heart

When it comes to storytelling, the Pascal Balmaceda family keeps reminding us that passion runs deep and across every corner of the industry.
This week, Chilean outlet Radio Cooperativa had a chance to chat with Javiera Balmaceda, Head of International Originals at Amazon MGM Studios, who shared a heartfelt glimpse into her brother’s connection to Chile and their shared creative vision.
“I believe that he is studying possibilities,” Javiera said when asked about Pedro’s future projects. “He loves the country a lot and he cares deeply about our Chilean history.”
It was a simple quote, but one that said everything. Even from different corners of the world, both siblings are finding ways to bring Chilean stories to a global audience. Javiera spoke passionately about her goal to highlight the richness of local storytelling beyond the familiar narratives Hollywood often gravitates toward.
“There are many more local stories that can be told. My goal is to show the whole world the richness of these stories because there is so much outside Hollywood and there are many stories to tell beyond dictatorships or the narcos,” Balmaceda detailed to Cooperativa.
For Pedro, whose career has spanned worlds from Star Wars and The Last of Us to Marvel and smaller A24-produced films, the timing feels right. A return to stories rooted in the place that shaped him, guided by the producing vision of someone who knows him best, is a full circle moment waiting to happen.
It is hard not to get emotional thinking about it, the idea of Pedro returning to where it all began with his sister paving the way for a new wave of Chilean storytelling. If this collaboration happens, it will not just be another project. It will be a homecoming.

Creator Spotlight: Cartastraccia_drawings
Gaia has that effortlessly cinematic vibe, like a Vanity-Fair spread sketched on the back of a napkin in a dim café. Their linework stays loose and breathing, never overworked, letting the personality of the sitter leak through the paper.
There’s alway a light scratch-iness, a hand-drawn feel, not a glossy digital slick. That gives her drawings immediacy, authenticity. The choice to colour only certain elements makes the rest of the sketch breathe. It creates a visual hierarchy: you know where the eye should go.
As a freelance concept artist, she builds worlds instead of just illustrating them, letting mood, color, and storytelling take the wheel. There’s drama, but never melodrama; beauty, but never boredom. Her style feels modern, cinematic - the kind of art you don’t scroll past, you orbit.
