Welcome to Issue 31 of The Pascal Pulse

The world is going through a lot right now. There’s no way around that, and it can feel like every time we open the news or scroll our feeds, there’s another weight added to our hearts. It may even feel like everything we read lately carries a little more heaviness than usual, and we want you to know that it’s okay to acknowledge that.
In October 2018, Pedro shared a message that still feels like a hand reaching out across time: “To anyone feeling defeated, to every “other.” You are my family and I love you. If I ever run into you, I will help you if you need it. What a world.”
It was simple, unconditional, and rooted in the belief that no one should feel invisible or alone in a world that can be so overwhelming.
Six months earlier, in a quieter moment, he spoke about anxiety and the importance of grounding yourself in the basics. To breathe. To drink water. To make sure you’ve eaten. And when it all feels like too much, to reach out to someone you trust and remember you’re not alone.
Two different moments, months apart, but both coming from the same place of care and humanity.
That’s also the space fandom so often holds. A place where joy and comfort live alongside the hard stuff. Where we find refuge in our favorite shows and movies, in the stories people write, the art they create, the edits they share. Where characters feel like friends, and strangers become familiar, and over time, a kind of found family forms.
It’s why we created The Pascal Pulse in the first place, inspired by the way Pedro himself celebrates creativity, kindness, and connection, and by his constant reminder to hold space for joy even when the world feels heavy.
If you’re feeling worn down or emotionally tired, you’re not broken. You’re human. And you’re part of a world of people who connect through stories, creativity, and shared love for something that makes life feel a little lighter.
Let this be a small pause. A breath. A reminder that even when everything feels heavy, there are still places to rest your heart. In a favorite scene. In a song. In a fic. In a piece of art. In the people who love the same things you do.
You’re not alone.

And That’s a Wrap on Behemoth!
According to makeup designer Donald Mowat, and Coco, filming has officially wrapped. Donald shared a heartfelt thank-you to the makeup and hair crew for being part of such a special journey. And like the true leading man he is, Pedro even catered the final day with In-N-Out burgers for everyone, and we’re officially jealous.
Behemoth! now heads into its next chapter: post-production. Next up for Pedro, he’s off to Mexico for Todd Haynes’ De Noche.
Ben Affleck and Matt Damon Talk Pedro
On Friday, January 16, 2026, The Rip arrived on Netflix, and in the press surrounding its release, both Ben Affleck and Matt Damon offered beautiful, long-spanning reflections on Pedro Pascal that feel like a quiet full-circle moment.
Affleck, speaking with BioBioChile, looked back on their time together on Triple Frontier, where a friendship took root. “Pedro is a really great guy and a spectacular friend. My favorite part of that experience was my relationship with Pedro. He’s so much fun, so funny, an incredibly talented actor, and now also very famous. I was so lucky to meet him.”
Damon, meanwhile, shared on The Howard Stern Show that he and Emily Blunt had clocked Pedro’s presence years earlier on the set of The Adjustment Bureau (2011), even in a tiny role that never made the final cut. “Emily and I both looked at each other and said, ‘That guy’s really f---ing good,’” Damon recalled. “There was something just incredibly interesting, but real and natural. Years later, I found out it was Pedro Pascal. Not even a day player with anything really to do. Just his presence — we both recognized it immediately.”
Speaking of Ben… The Real Housewives Tea We (and Pedro) Need
For those of you who also share Pedro’s obsession with The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Emily Orozco with Access Hollywood asked Ben Affleck the question that we (and probably Pedro) are all dying to know: does Ben Affleck know Lisa Barlow, as she claimed in Part 1 of the Season 6 finale. You can find his answer here. More importantly, will Pedro fire up his group chat with Ben and Matt to get tea about his favorite housewives before the final episode next week??
A Hush-Hush Reveal at London Toy Fair

Apparently, some of the leakers claim these are AI, but some people still think they’re real, and we’re not sure. We think the Reed Funko is cute and hope it’s an actual leaked pic.
Marvel collectors are in full speculation mode after what appears to be the tightly guarded Funko Pop lineup for Avengers: Doomsday began circulating online. This week at London’s Toy Fair, the figures were reportedly unveiled in a closed, secret room with no cameras allowed, very on-brand for Marvel. According to Avengers Updates, the hush-hush display immediately set fandom buzzing about which characters (and looks) are being kept under wraps.
A leaked image shared by MCU Report shows the “Phase 1 – Announcement Wave,” with a street date of November 4, 2026 and an official reveal planned for SDCC 2026. The lineup includes Thor, God Loki, Captain America, Doctor Doom, Steve Rogers, Magneto, Mystique, Binary, Winter Soldier, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, The Thing, Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, King T’Challa, and a blurry look at Reed Richards in a white and blue jacket. We are already counting the days until SDCC!!
As a reminder, San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2026 will take place July 23–26, 2026, with Preview Night scheduled for Wednesday, July 22, 2026.
First Look: New The Mandalorian and Grogu Merchandise

Also unveiled at the UK Toy Fair, right alongside the hush-hush Avengers: Doomsday Funko reveals, was a first look at new The Mandalorian and Grogu merchandise. Shared by Mandoverse Updates with images sourced from FanthaTracks, the display features plush Grogu, stylized character figures, and a delightfully unexpected Mr. Potato Head collection including Din Djarin, Grogu, Rotta, Zeb, and a stormtrooper.
And the timing couldn’t be better. According to Beyond Reporter, a new trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu is expected in just a couple of weeks, making the Toy Fair reveals feel like the calm before the hyperspace jump.

Dr. Guapo (Nicolás Balmaceda) talks about AI and Healthcare
Pedro shared a video from his brother, Nicolás Balmaceda, a physician and data scientist at Hospital Dr. Luis Tisné in Chile, where he talks about how artificial intelligence is transforming healthcare, from improving clinical decision-making to helping identify intracerebral hemorrhages in emergency imaging.
The video is in Spanish, but we’ve translated it into English for you here: [English Translation Link]
Nicolás also invites viewers to read the full article he references, which explores how these systems work and “think,” from the broadest concepts to the most basic levels. You can find it via Hospital Dr. Luis Tisné here: [Hospital Link]
More proof the Balmaceda Pascal family shines in everything they do.

It will be released on February 2nd!

Cry to Heaven Begins Filming
Tom Ford’s adaptation of Anne Rice’s Cry to Heaven has officially begun filming in Italy, with production underway in Rome and Caserta for a planned 9–10 week shoot. Set in 18th-century Italy, the film explores the intense, brutal world of castrati opera singers, diving into themes of ambition, obsession, power, and betrayal as two young men rise and clash, within a system that exploits talent for art and status.
The cast is stacked, including Nicholas Hoult, Adele (in her acting debut), Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Hunter Schafer, George MacKay, Owen Cooper, Colin Firth, Paul Bettany, Mark Strong, Ciarán Hinds, Thandiwe Newton, and more. And yes, Lux is part of the ensemble, making this one even more exciting for the Pascal family and fandom alike.
11 Years of Max: Bloodsucking Bastards Anniversary

This Friday marked 11 years since Bloodsucking Bastards was released on 1/23/2015, giving us Pedro Pascal’s sassy, sharp-tongued, and terribly misunderstood Max. The film not only delivered one of his most underrated early roles, it also marked the first time Pedro and Coco Ullrich worked together on a film. A dark office comedy that showed early on how perfectly he could balance humor, heart, and bite.
Time for a rewatch? Here’s the link to the movie on Youtube
National Pedro Day: As If We Needed an Excuse
January 23 was also National Pedro Day, celebrated every year in honor of all Pedros everywhere. The date conveniently coincides with National Pie Day, too, double celebrations for all Pedros. The name Pedro comes from the Latin word petra, meaning “stone” or “rock,” and the Spanish word Pedroza even means “rocky.” We may have missed celebrating on the day, but we hope Pedro had a wonderful Pedro Day with maybe some pie?!
New/Old Behind-the-Scenes Photos: A Look Back at the First Family

New (and old!) stills from Fantastic Four: First Steps have surfaced, giving us another look back at the film and Pedro’s role in the Marvel universe. Shared via via Flarko Studios on YouTube, these images are a nice look back at the First Family and a reminder of where it all began, while also building excitement for what’s next in the MCU, leading into Avengers: Doomsday. Movie Night with Pedro’s Characters

With Valentine’s Day coming up, what better time for a little movie magic, romance, chaos, and comfort viewing? Whether you’re spending the night with a partner, friends, family, or your favorite blanket and snacks, here are some film picks chosen by Pedro’s characters themselves, each one perfectly matching their hearts, histories, and wildly different personalities.

Javier Peña (Narcos) Recommends:
Internal Affairs (1990)
A tense, morally messy story about corruption and blurred lines inside law enforcement. Peña would recognize the power games, the pressure, and the danger of trusting the wrong people when the system itself is compromised.

Joel Miller (The Last of Us) Recommends:
Children of Men (2006)
A brutal, beautiful story about protecting hope in a broken world. Gritty, emotional, and quietly devastating, this feels like something Joel would watch in silence and carry with him for days.

Din Djarin (The Mandalorian) Recommends:
Lone Wolf and Cub: Sword of Vengeance (1972)
A warrior, a child, and a journey through danger and honor. Duty, sacrifice, and a powerful bond forged in violence and love. No words needed. Just a nod of respect and a “this is the way.”

Javi Gutierrez (The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent) Recommends:
Paddington 2 (2017)
Javi passionately champions this film, calling it his third favorite of all time and famously saying it “made me want to be a better man.” He openly admits he cried through the entire movie, much to Nicolas Cage’s snobbish disbelief. To Javi, Paddington 2 isn’t just a family film, it’s a profound cinematic experience about kindness, goodness, and the power of found family, and he insists everyone watch it with an open heart and a box of tissues.

Ezra (Prospect) Recommends:
Moon (2009)
Lonely, strange, and quietly haunting. A story about survival and identity in the vastness of space, perfect for someone who’s spent too much time alone with his thoughts and the stars.

Dieter Bravo (The Bubble) Recommends:
The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975)
Pure camp, chaos, queerness, and cult-classic excess. Sex, glitter, leather, time warps, and absolute theatrical anarchy. Dieter would insist everyone dress up, sing along, and embrace the beautiful weirdness, declaring it cinema that sets you free.

Oberyn Martell (Game of Thrones) Recommends:
Dangerous Liaisons (1988)
Seduction as strategy, power as a game, and revenge served with elegance. Oberyn would relish the intelligence, danger, and deliciously sharp dialogue.

Max Lord (Wonder Woman 1984) Recommends:
Network (1976)
A razor-sharp look at ambition, manipulation, and selling dreams to the masses. Max would see himself in the spectacle, the hunger for influence, and the intoxicating power of being believed.

Harry Castillo (Materialists) Recommends:
Notting Hill (1999)
A polished, sweeping romance about love cutting through status and image. Perfect for a rich, seemingly flawless man who secretly longs for something genuine and emotionally real.

Frankie “Catfish” Morales (Triple Frontier) Recommends:
Lethal Weapon (1987)
Brotherhood forged in danger, loyalty under fire, and humor used to survive the worst of it. Frankie would connect to the ride-or-die bond and the way the team becomes family.

Pero Tovar (The Great Wall) Recommends:
Ocean’s Eleven (2001)
A slick tale of thieves, schemes, and survival against impossible odds. It’s about wit, nerve, and walking away with the prize. Perfect for someone who trusts no one but himself and always finds a way to come out on top.

Silva (Strange Way of Life) Recommends:
Brokeback Mountain (2005)
A love shaped by longing, silence, and roads not taken. Silva watches it slowly, painfully, and with full understanding of what it means to love someone in a world that refuses to make space for you.

Marcus Pike (The Mentalist) Recommends:
Before Sunrise (1995) (not Casablanca this time)
A quiet, intimate romance built almost entirely on conversation and possibility. Marcus believes in connection, timing, and the fragile magic of two people choosing honesty for one night. He’d call it “simple,” then think about it for the rest of his life.

Reed Richards (Fantastic Four) Recommends:
Hidden Figures (2016)
A story about brilliant minds forced to fight not equations, but institutions. Reed deeply relates to the frustration of knowing the answer and still being ignored- watching intelligence slowed down by politics, ego, and outdated rules. What moves him most isn’t the math, but the moment when brilliance finally breaks through resistance. Progress, to him, should be inevitable, yet this film reminds him it must be fought for.

Artist Highlight: @Bhamgalth (밤갈쓰)
This Korean artist on X has completely captured our hearts with their warm, expressive style, from soft, playful chibi pieces to deeply emotional Luke/Din art that makes our hearts sing.
Today’s share is pure joy: Pedro twirling in a pleated skirt, tall boots, ears and tail, full of confidence and sweetness and swish, a playful take on his Star Wars Celebration Japan outfit, right down to the beefy fold-over leather boots from Acne Studios, plus their adorable chibi world that even gives us Pedro as a shy little hamster clutching his green juice like a comfort object. It’s gentle, funny, and full of love for both the man and the characters.
Whether in chibi form, Luke/Din, or in something whimsical or tender, their art radiates so much affection, and it truly feels like the kind of work Pedro himself would absolutely love.

Themed Weeks Are Back: Clint Flood Takes the Spotlight
Maiev shared that they are bringing back the beloved themed weeks from 2023 (or 2024… time is fake, but the vibes are real) with a full schedule, kicking off a throwback tour of our favorite Pedro characters. We’ll be posting about three times a week, and everyone is invited to join in and share head canons, fanfics, edits, pics, videos, all of it.
From January 26 through February 1, the spotlight is on Clint Flood, celebrating this intense, layered role with a week full of creativity and appreciation. A perfect excuse to revisit one of Pedro’s most compelling characters and share the love together.

Fandom in Action: PPN & World Central Kitchen for Chile
Pedro Pascal Nation once again showed what this fandom can do when it comes together for something bigger than all of us. In response to the devastating wildfires in Chile, PPN launched a fundraiser benefiting World Central Kitchen, helping provide fresh meals to frontline communities and emergency crews working tirelessly on the ground.
With WCK already mobilized across the hardest-hit regions, PPN rallied our community to support the effort, quickly meeting and surpassing early fundraising goals and continuing to push forward to raise even more. It’s a powerful reminder of the heart at the center of this fandom — compassion, action, and a deep desire to give back, especially to the country that is such an important part of Pedro’s story. If you’d like to help, you can donate by clicking here to support World Central Kitchen through PPN’s fundraiser for Chile.

Heart for Artists for Aid — Reminder
Of course, here’s quick reminder about this Take My Money moment. Artist Jamie (@pink_pigtail) created a beautiful piece inspired by Pedro Pascal at the Artists for Aid concert, capturing the moment he formed a heart with his hands and sent it out to the audience. Her soft, expressive style and luminous color choices give the artwork a warm, glowing feel that really captures the emotion of the moment.
Jamie is generously donating the proceeds from this piece to support the cause. The original is available by DM, with prints and a limited number of stickers in her Etsy shop. U.S. orders receive free shipping on prints, and international fans can purchase digital downloads. The fundraiser is currently running and continues through February 20.

Mi Hijo Tiene un Show en Netflix 💙🎤

Like a proud “mom,” Pedro shared his excitement and pride for his “son,” Marcello Hernández, celebrating the release of Marcello’s debut Netflix special, American Boy. The 2025 comedy special dives into his Latino roots, from unhinged family dance-offs to his mom’s unforgettable life lessons, and you can watch it now on Netflix. A sweet show of support as Pedro cheers him on for this big milestone.
