💜 The Birthday Project 2026: “Because You’re Here”

We are so excited to officially announce this year’s Birthday Project, “Because You’re Here.”

Over the past two years, this community has shown what it is capable of when it comes together. In 2024, you helped bring Pedro’s face to Times Square. In 2025, you helped create a massive, love-filled birthday project that reached fans around the world and truly made an impact. Both projects were shared widely and successfully reached him, reminding us that what we build together really matters.

This year, we are creating something deeply personal.

“Because You’re Here” is a digital comfort book filled with real letters, stories, art, photos, pet submissions, kindness receipts, and messages from fans across the globe. It is meant to be something Pedro can return to on hard days and feel supported, appreciated, and encouraged.

This project is made by humans, for a human.
And everyone is welcome.

How to Submit

We are accepting the following types of submissions:

You may send original letters or short stories (under 200 words), artwork and photography, pet photos with short write-ups, kindness and charity stories, short “micro messages,” and thoughtful reviews of Pedro’s work.

All submissions must be original and human-made. AI-generated content is not permitted.

Please email your entry to:

When possible, use this subject line format:
What you are submitting + Name to display + Country (optional)

📅 Submission Deadline: March 20, 2026

💜 Why This Matters

This project is about creating something Pedro can look at and immediately feel supported, appreciated, and understood. It is about reminding him that his work, his kindness, and his presence have mattered to people in real and lasting ways.

Every message, every drawing, every story becomes part of a larger reminder that he is not alone, that he is seen, and that he is valued far beyond any role or headline.

And everyone is included in this. We truly mean it. Whether you have been part of this space for years, just discovered it, follow quietly, participate from afar, or are joining in for the first time, your voice matters and your presence belongs.

Together, we have created spaces of encouragement and love before.
Together, we are doing it again.

Thank you for helping turn this project into something that carries comfort, gratitude, and heart. 💜

We cannot wait to see what you share. 💜

With love,
Maiev, Mel, and Jackie

De Noche — Officially Confirmed

Variety has finally officially confirmed that Pedro will star opposite Danny Ramirez in De Noche, the new romantic noir drama from director Todd Haynes.

Set in 1930s Los Angeles, the film follows a hard-boiled detective who falls in love with a boarding school teacher as corruption and political danger close in around them. Inspired by classic noirs like Chinatown, the story sees the two men forced to flee to Mexico in search of safety, freedom, and a life together.

The project is being financed by MK2 Films, which is also handling international sales, with filming expected to begin soon.

Even more exciting for cinephiles: all signs point to De Noche being shot in black and white, leaning fully into its vintage noir roots and moody, atmospheric style.

With its period setting, emotional depth, and striking visual approach, De Noche is shaping up to be another bold, unforgettable chapter in Pedro’s career and we cannot wait to see it come to life.

From Carol to De Noche: Pedro’s Tribute to Todd Haynes

This week, following Variety’s official announcement, Pedro shared a heartfelt tribute to working with Todd Haynes, celebrating his legacy of bold, emotionally rich, and deeply queer storytelling.

Set to Baby “It's You”, the post featured stills from Poison, Safe, Velvet Goldmine, Far from Heaven, I'm Not There, Carol, and May December, along with a young photo of Todd, a recent photo of him, and a throwback shot of Pedro with Danny Ramirez from a few months back.

Longtime Haynes collaborator Julianne Moore commented that she “can’t wait,” with Pedro replying in three melting emojis. Paired with his #VivaMexico tag, the post feels like a joyful, personal nod to the creative world he’s stepping into with De Noche and we are so excited!! Maybe it’s time for all of us to prepare by revisiting (or discovering) these incredible films.

Three Years Later: Pedro’s SNL Night We’ll Never Forget

This week marked the three-year anniversary of Pedro’s unforgettable hosting debut on Saturday Night Live on February 4, 2023, with Coldplay as the musical guest, and honestly, it still feels like one of those nights for this fandom.

His monologue was emotional, funny, and completely him. He spoke lovingly about his family and his parents’ journey as immigrants, joked about his Chilean cousins giving out his phone number, teased that Mando’s voice is basically a “bedroom voice,” and laughed about all his early Law & Order roles. It was tender, chaotic, grateful, and so real, the kind of opening that instantly had everyone rooting for him even harder.

Then came Coldplay’s performance of Fix You. Before the bridge, Chris Martin dedicated the song to Pedro, his late mother, and his father, softly calling out “Pedro and Verónica”. It was quiet, beautiful, and emotional, and it made an already special episode unforgettable.

Later that same year, Pedro earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his SNL appearance, a perfect reflection of just how memorable this night truly was.

Three years later, this episode still feels like peak Pedro. Funny, heartfelt, grateful, and completely himself.

Pedro Using His Voice for What Matters

This week, Pedro has continued to post about the brutality of ICE and the protests in Minneapolis in his stories, and he shared this deeply moving video of children speaking directly about kindness, fear, and compassion with the caption: Children protecting children 💔🙏 #LiamRamos #ICEOUT. Their words center empathy and loss, reminding us of the real human impact on families and communities.

A Pedro & A New Hat Sighting in New York

Pedro was spotted landing in New York City this week wearing a new hat, the Alex Eagle “Books Books Books” Movement Cap. Photos of him around the city soon followed and were published by Getty shortly after.

A Galaxy Watch Party Tonight

During the Super Bowl today, Disney is expected to debut a trailer for The Mandalorian & Grogu, marking the first theatrical Star Wars release since The Rise of Skywalker. Sadly, there won’t be a new look at Avengers: Doomsday, which is a little heartbreak for Marvel fans.

Still, keep watching and stay for Bad Bunny, Green Day, Brandi Carlile, Charlie Puth, and Coco Jones, because even though Pedro famously “hates” the Super Bowl, let’s be honest…he’s probably watching anyway, especially since we can never forget Sarah Paulson’s Instagram Live video of Pedro tearing up at Brandi’s concert in 2022.

And speaking of Din and Grogu, did you see that they recently visited Lucasfilm offices? Does this mean we will be seeing a new animatronic Grogu coming soon to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge? If so, we are already emotionally unwell. 😭💫 Check out the cuteness overload HERE.

🏈 If You Invited a Pedro Pascal Character to Your Super Bowl Party…

What would happen if Pedro Pascal’s most iconic characters showed up to your Super Bowl watch party? Who brings the best snacks, who brings chaos, and who definitely leaves with food in their pockets? From perfectly organized nachos to emotional cake disasters, here’s our fun take on what each character would bring to game day.

Joel Miller

Joel shows up late. No text. No warning. Just appears in the doorway holding a foil pan like it weighs nothing. He sets it down, mutters, “It’s still warm,” and walks away. No explanation. No recipe. No story.

The meat is incredible. Everyone knows it. No one asks questions.

He eats quietly, standing off to the side, watching the game with intense focus, occasionally handing someone a napkin without making eye contact. If you compliment the food, he shrugs and says, “It’s fine,” like he didn’t just win the entire night.

Din Djarin

Din brings the most organized food anyone has ever seen. Chips are separated. Cheese is warm in a thermos. Meat is sealed. Sauce is labeled. There is a printed list.

He sets it all down with quiet pride. Then he does not touch it. Because helmet.

Grogu immediately begins stealing everything. Din watches in silence. Does not interfere. This is clearly a life lesson. When someone offers him a plate, he politely declines and stands guard near the snacks like they are sacred artifacts.

Oberyn Martell

Oberyn arrives carrying wings and confidence.

He announces loudly that they are “barely spicy.”

They are lies.

Within minutes, three people are coughing, one person is sweating, and someone is desperately searching for milk. Oberyn eats them casually, unbothered, flirting with anyone who makes eye contact and complimenting their bravery.

He keeps encouraging people to “try just one more.” He knows exactly what he is doing. He thrives on it.

Javier Peña

Javi shows up with multiple bags and immediately starts complaining that the restaurant “messed up his order.” No one believes him. He ordered all of this. On purpose.

He spreads it across the table like he’s briefing a task force. Tacos. Burritos. Extra sides. Mysterious sauce. He eats constantly while critiquing the game, the refs, and everyone’s snack choices.

Still, every time someone asks if they can have something, he says yes. He pretends he’s annoyed. He’s not.

Javi Gutierrez

Javi arrives early. Too early. With multiple bags, drinks, desserts, extra plates, backup napkins, and a gift for the host. He keeps asking if it’s enough. It is more than enough.

All night, he makes sure everyone has food, refills drinks, takes pictures, hypes every play, and emotionally reacts to commercials. He cries at halftime. No one is surprised.

He is the heart of the party and he knows it.

Dieter Bravo

Dieter arrives late, wearing sunglasses, holding a crushed pastry box. He announces that the dessert is “very important” and that he “fought for it spiritually.” The cake is melted and slightly dented.

He loses it immediately. Finds it later under all the guests’ jackets in the hallway. Declares it “still perfect.” Eats half of it with his hands. Cries while thanking the host. Spills a drink. Borrows someone’s hoodie. Lays on the floor during halftime whispering about “art” and “connection.”

By the end, he is asleep next to the snack table.

Pero Tovar

Tovar brings nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Within minutes, he is sliding food toward himself and loudly telling people how much effort he put into “his” wings and “his” nachos. At one point, he gestures at someone else’s casserole and claims responsibility for it.

Later, you notice him stuffing sliders, cookies, and wrapped brownies into his jacket pockets. When confronted, he says, “For the journey.” No one knows what journey.

He leaves with half the buffet and zero shame.

Silva

Silva arrives with a homemade dish, wrapped carefully, apologizing that it might not be good enough. It is incredible. Everyone loves it.

He notices when someone hasn’t eaten. He quietly brings them a plate. He offers blankets. He listens when people start getting emotional during halftime. He sits with Joel and talks about life near the kitchen.

By the end of the night, half the guests are emotionally supported and carrying leftovers he insisted they take.

🏈 More characters (and more chaos) are coming later today on our Instagram, so stay tuned for the next round of Super Bowl party fun. 🏈

Artist Highlight: @yungpicari

This isn’t an account that only draws Pedro, which honestly makes it even cooler when she does. This Joel portrait is ridiculously good: warm, painterly strokes, that lived-in expression, and the kind of color work that makes the whole piece feel like it’s glowing from the inside. It has that perfect “soft but haunted” Joel vibe -tender, tired, stubborn, human. You can tell she understands structure, light, and character, not just likeness. Absolutely worth putting on your radar.
