The Many Flavors of Pedro
Every once in a while the Pedro timeline delivers a moment that makes the entire fandom pause. This week’s moment is the sudden and dramatic return of Pedro’s entire face.
Yes, the beard and mustache are gone, and thanks to photos from the set of De Noche, we have our first look at Pedro completely clean shaven again. It immediately reminded many of us of something important. Pedro has an extremely beautiful face.
It has been a while since we have seen it fully unobstructed. The last time many fans remember seeing a truly clean shaven Pedro on screen was in Wonder Woman 1984, when he played Maxwell Lord with maximum chaotic energy, a very memorable blonde wig, and a freshly shaved face that he later admitted he was not exactly thrilled about.
Pedro has been very honest about his feelings on the subject.
“I grow such shit facial hair, but if I were to shave it all off… I really look very awful. Strongly disagree with a clean shaven me,” Pedro said. “I was so appalled by the way I look in Wonder Woman 1984. I loved the movie, but I was so appalled by the way that I looked that I never have gone back unless it were completely necessary. If they asked me to be clean shave for Fantastic Four and insisted then I would’ve done it. But it was a very collaborative creation for all of our looks in the movie.”
Pedro, respectfully, we must strongly disagree.
When the beard disappears, the full architecture of his face suddenly comes back into view. The chin and the jawline are impossible to miss, and of course there is the famously full bottom lip that usually has to compete with a mustache for attention.
Not that we are complaining about the mustache. The Peña era mustache from Narcos is practically a character of its own. That look launched a thousand edits, memes, and probably a few minor internet crises. It remains one of the most iconic Pedro looks for a reason.
Pedro has joked about his facial hair plenty over the years. During his WIRED autocomplete interview with Oscar Isaac, he described his facial hair as “under nourished.” In that same interview he shared that people warned him not to shave the mustache because without it he would look like someone’s grandmother.
Which, again, Pedro, we must gently push back on.
That so called malnourished facial hair has given us some of the most beloved Pedro looks of all time. The scruff, the mustache, and the slightly chaotic growth pattern somehow work perfectly every time. And then there is the detail fans know well. When the beard grows in just right, it creates the tiniest heart shaped spot along his jawline. That little heart in the scruff has given the fandom feelings more than once.
Of course, facial hair or not, Pedro has given us many iconic eras. There was the polished but quietly terrifying clean shaven Dave York in The Equalizer 2. The legendary Peña mustache era in Narcos. The scruffy, emotionally devastating Joel Miller beard. And the many variations of press tour Pedro facial hair, each somehow becoming its own moment.
Which brings us back to the present.
Pedro is currently filming De Noche, where he will play Richard Rent. If the set photos are any indication, Richard may be arriving with his jawline fully activated. And let us just say this version of Pedro looks extremely kissable for Danny. We are simply making an observation.
At the end of the day, the truth is simple. We love all flavors of Pedro. Bearded Pedro, mustached Pedro, scruffy Pedro, and clean-shaven Pedro. Every era somehow becomes someone’s favorite.
Still, if the beard is taking a short vacation so we can admire the jawline for a bit, we fully support the decision. Pedro continues to prove that no matter the facial hair situation, he simply cannot have a bad era.
And tonight, as awards season rolls on, we will be watching a little extra closely. Whether the beard makes a comeback or the clean shaven era continues, we are just happy to see Pedro out there shining.
So here is to the Oscars tonight and to seeing Pedro and his beautiful naked face on our screens. 💜

More Familiar Star Wars Names Join The Mandalorian & Grogu Creative Team
More behind-the-scenes names tied to The Mandalorian & Grogu are starting to come into focus. Recent reports and industry listings indicate that Noah Kloor is credited as one of the screenwriters on the upcoming film alongside Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni. Kloor is already familiar to Star Wars fans through his work on The Book of Boba Fett and his writing credit on The Mandalorian’s “Chapter 19: The Convert,” making his involvement an interesting detail for anyone watching the creative team behind Din Djarin’s big-screen return.
There’s also more good news for fans of Bryce Dallas Howard. She has been confirmed as a producer on The Mandalorian & Grogu and will also direct two episodes of Ahsoka Season 2. If that producer credit holds, it adds another familiar and well-loved Star Wars creative voice to the film’s growing team.
Together, it all points to The Mandalorian & Grogu being built by creatives who already understand this corner of the galaxy which is exactly the kind of detail fans like to see.

Pedro Returns as Din Djarin in New Mandalorian & Grogu Preview
Fans in the UK are reporting that an exclusive behind-the-scenes trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu is currently playing at select Odeon cinemas. The footage reportedly includes several new glimpses of Din Djarin, including a nighttime street scene, a moment where Pedro appears helmetless up to his neck in water inside a cave, and a shot of Din walking alongside Zeb on what may be Navarro.
The preview also includes new interview clips with Pedro, Jon Favreau, and Doug Chiang, with Favreau describing the film as capturing the spirit of the original Star Wars trilogy and highlighting the use of practical effects.
Pedro Set to Present at the 2026 Oscars
Pedro Takes the Oscars Stage Tonight
Pedro will be presenting at the 98th Academy Awards tonight, March 15, joining a star-studded lineup of presenters that includes Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Wagner Moura, and Sigourney Weaver, along with Nicole Kidman, Ewan McGregor, Channing Tatum, and many more. With both Pedro and Chris Evans appearing, there’s also a chance fans could get a little Marvel reunion moment on stage.
For anyone planning to watch live, the official red carpet show begins at 6:30 p.m. ET / 3:30 p.m. PT, followed by the awards ceremony at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT. The show will air live on ABC and stream live on Hulu.
For viewers in Europe, broadcast options vary by country. The Academy’s international viewing guide lists Disney+ as the streaming home for the Oscars in several markets, including France, Germany, and Austria, while other countries will have local broadcasters. The easiest way to check availability is through the Academy’s “How to Watch” guide, which breaks down viewing options country by country.
And yes, Pedro will be appearing with his beautiful bare face, so we’ll definitely be keeping an eye on the arrivals. We’ll also try to share red carpet moments and highlights as the night unfolds.
Pedro Pascal Spotted on De Noche Set in Cananea
With a Surprise New Look
Pedro was recently spotted on the set of De Noche in Cananea, giving us an unexpected first look at his latest role and an even more unexpected new look. Photos and videos circulating online from the production show Pedro appearing notably clean-shaven, a surprise for fans so used to his moustache and scruff being part of his signature image.
For longtime Pedro watchers, the missing moustache is almost its own plot twist. That facial hair has become such a defining part of his public look that seeing him without it makes the whole sighting feel a little uncanny, like he’s accidentally unlocked incognito mode just by shaving.
We’ve also collected all the set sightings we could find in one place so you can see everything that’s surfaced so far.

Love Louder Than the Hate: A Fan’s Story from Mexico
We wanted to share this fan sighting because the story behind it says a lot. A fan recently met Pedro in Mexico and shared a beautiful post about the experience. He talked about how special the moment was, how the conversation meant even more than the photo or the autographs, and how kind and present Pedro was during their time together.
But he also touched on something important. In his caption he directly addressed the negativity and attacks Pedro has been receiving lately, making it clear that from his perspective, the energy he sees around him is love. He spoke about how proud he felt that his country welcomed Pedro with warmth and how strongly people there support him.
It is a powerful reminder that the loudest voices online are not always the ones that represent the majority. There are still so many people who simply appreciate him, his work, and the way he treats people.
The caption is heartfelt, emotional, and honestly worth reading in full. Go to the original post and read the whole thing. It really captures the moment in a way we can’t fully do here. 💜
Lux Pascal Shines at Vanity Fair’s Night for Young Hollywood
Lux attended Vanity Fair’s Vanities: A Night for Young Hollywood at Bar Marmont in Los Angeles on March 11, and she looked stunning.
Wearing a striking black sequined dress by Bode with sheer layers and bold red floral detailing on the sleeves, Lux brought a mix of elegance and edge to the event. The look balanced delicate textures with dramatic structure, giving the outfit beautiful movement both in photos and video.
In clips shared from the evening, Lux looked relaxed and playful, flashing a peace sign to the camera and clearly enjoying the moment.
Events like Vanity Fair’s Young Hollywood celebration spotlight rising voices in the industry, and seeing Lux included in that space feels well deserved. She continues building momentum with her acting career while also becoming a standout presence at industry and fashion events.
Another beautiful moment for Lux, and we love seeing her shine. ✨
Another Fan Sighting in Mexico
Another lucky fan recently ran into Pedro in Mexico and grabbed this photo. Based on the timeline of other De Noche set photos, we think this may have been taken before his hair was cut, since it looks a bit longer here than in some of the more recent sightings from set.
And of course, fans quickly noticed the vape making a small cameo in his hand. Even during a quick fan moment, Pedro remains effortlessly Pedro.
Empire’s Mando Cover Issue Is Out
The latest issue of Empire Magazine, featuring The Mandalorian and Grogu on the cover, is officially out now. Inside, there are some wonderful moments, including Pedro reflecting on what it meant to work with one of his longtime idols, Sigourney Weaver.
In the interview, he becomes emotional talking about the experience, sharing how much she meant to him growing up and how deeply moved he was by her generosity and warmth on set.
We’ve included the excerpt below because honestly, Pedro fangirling over Sigourney will never not be adorable.

Looking to grab a copy?
Our friends at Your Celebrity Magazines have the issue available and they ship worldwide. We’ve found them to be much more reliable for international delivery than ordering directly from Empire.

Fantastic Four Set for Big Role in Avengers: Doomsday
New details suggest the Fantastic Four will play an important role in Avengers: Doomsday, with “crucial and essential” developments for the team. Rather than simply appearing as part of a large ensemble, each character is said to be included for a specific reason tied to the story.
In other words, they’re not just showing up. Their presence will matter. And it looks like the next chapter of the MCU will start weaving their story into the larger Avengers saga in a meaningful way.

Artist Highlight: @katarinakuehl
One thing that immediately stands out in Katarina Kühl’s artwork is the eyes. Her portraits have a way of capturing something deeper than just a likeness. There’s a quiet sadness there, a vulnerability that makes the subjects feel incredibly human. The expressions she creates often feel thoughtful and introspective, as if the person in the portrait is holding a story just beneath the surface.
In this piece, inspired by runway fashion, the styling is elegant and relaxed, but the emotion is what draws you in. The gaze feels distant and reflective, the kind that makes you pause for a moment and look a little closer.
It’s that balance of beauty and feeling that makes Katarina’s work so striking. Her illustrations don’t just show a face, they capture the soul behind it.
Be sure to check out more of her work at @katarinakuehl.

Our friend @teshiiex is putting together a fan-led Pedro Pascal coloring book for a beautiful cause. Citizen’s new Mandalorian watch is the latest entry in the Star Wars merch hall of fame, otherwise known as things that make us instantly forget budgeting exists. From the leather strap to the subtle character-inspired details, it’s a very pretty piece of fandom bait and honestly, it’s working.
For anyone already reaching for their wallet, the new Citizen Mandalorian watch (CA0857-09W) has started appearing at retailers, including Bijoux Eclore, with marketplace listings popping up as well. Official Citizen availability may still be rolling out depending on region.

BoxLunch has decided our wallets have suffered too little and launched new Mandalorian jackets, sweatshirts and shirts. The new pieces are pure danger for anyone with a weakness for Din Djarin-inspired fashion, the kind of merch that lands somewhere between “practical outerwear” and “instant financial collapse.”
