Libraries, Stories, and the Spaces That Hold Them
As we head into National Library Week (April 19-25, 2026), with this year’s theme as Find Your Joy, we'll be sharing a few posts to celebrate reading together. Stories matter. Access matters. Libraries remain one of the last truly open spaces where anyone can find knowledge, comfort, and community, and a cornerstone of democracy where ideas are free to be explored.
We’re honored to share a guest editorial from Christina, a library professional with 20 years of experience and a member of our community who shares our appreciation for Pedro, making it even more meaningful to feature her voice here.
Guest Editorial
By Christina Cardenas, Library Professional.
For 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of working in libraries, and in that time, I’ve witnessed incredible change. From card catalogs to digital databases, from quiet reading rooms to vibrant community hubs, libraries have continuously evolved. But one thing has never changed: their importance.
Libraries are more than just buildings filled with books. They are safe spaces. They are places where people can learn, grow, connect, and simply be. In times like these, when the world can feel uncertain, overwhelming, or divided, libraries quietly stand as one of the last truly accessible spaces for everyone, regardless of background or circumstance.
In recent years, that role has only become more critical. In communities across the country, we’ve seen efforts to remove or restrict access to certain books. Through it all, library employees have stood strong, advocating for the freedom to read and working tirelessly to ensure that everyone continues to have access to information, ideas, and stories that reflect the full diversity of our communities.
At the same time, libraries have grown far beyond their traditional roles. We have truly become community centers, places where families gather, learn, and create memories together. From story times that spark a love of reading in young children, to plant swaps that bring neighbors together, to arts and crafts programs that encourage creativity, libraries offer free and welcoming experiences for all ages.
We also serve as vital access points in people’s everyday lives. Many rely on public computers not just for convenience, but for necessity, such as searching for jobs, creating and printing resumes for interviews, or making photocopies of important documents, including immigration paperwork, to help protect and support their families. These are not just services; they are lifelines.
What I’ve seen over the past two decades is this: libraries have become pillars of social equity. Even in an increasingly digital world, their role has not diminished, it has expanded. They continue to grow, adapt, and meet the needs of their communities in ways that are both practical and deeply human.
After 20 years, I can honestly say: libraries are not just important, they are essential. And in many ways, they reflect the same values that Pedro so often speaks about: empathy, inclusion, the importance of protecting vulnerable communities, and the power of stories to connect us. Libraries live those values every day, ensuring that everyone has a place, a voice, and access to the stories that help us understand one another.
Libraries hold so much for all of us. They’re memories and first stories, the quiet places where we begin to understand ourselves. For many, they’re also an escape, where imagination takes shape, something Pedro often reflects on when he speaks about the impact of stories.
If you can, stop by a library, pick up something new, and find your joy. And if you’re able, support your local library.

Pedro Pascal Covers Fantastic Man 42
and Yes, We’re Already Seated
Pedro has officially landed on the cover of Fantastic Man for Spring/Summer 2026, and honestly, it feels like one of those magazine moments that instantly becomes part of the Pedro timeline. The new issue is out now, with Fantastic Man confirming that n°42 is available and spotlighting Pedro as one of its three cover stars. On the homepage, the magazine even calls him “everyone’s favorite actor Pedro Pascal,” which feels less like hype and more like a statement of fact at this point.
This cover also arrives at exactly the right moment. Pedro’s feature comes with a stacked creative team - photographed by Ethan James Green, styled by Carlos Nazario, and interviewed by Seb Emina and it lands just days after Chanel announced him as its newest house ambassador. That timing makes the whole thing feel even bigger: not just a gorgeous editorial, but a snapshot of Pedro in a full-on fashion era. Chanel’s rollout quoted Pedro praising Matthieu Blazy’s vision as “powerful, elegant, and incredibly warm,” which feels like a surprisingly perfect parallel to the energy Pedro himself keeps bringing to every room he enters.
And that’s exactly why this feature feels so exciting. Fantastic Man describes issue 42 as “three hundred and thirteen pages of men’s thoughts, dreams, actions and fashions for Spring and Summer 2026,” which makes Pedro’s inclusion feel especially fitting. He’s never been just a red-carpet presence or just a fan-favorite actor. He carries that rare mix of emotional intelligence, cultural magnetism, and personal style that makes an interview like this feel worth sitting down for, not just skimming for photos.
So yes, we’re absolutely here for the cover. But we’re even more here for the conversation behind it, specifically the Seb Emina interview that promises more than just another polished celebrity profile. Pedro in Fantastic Man feels like the kind of feature you don’t just flip past. You read it slowly. You admire the images. You underline a sentence or two. And then, naturally, you start plotting how to get your hands on a copy as fast as possible.

Pedro Pascal Joins Chanel as
the Newest House Ambassador
Pedro Pascal has officially entered his Chanel era. It was announced this week, that he became the newest House Ambassador for the French fashion house, marking a major new step in his growing relationship with the brand under artistic director Matthieu Blazy. The appointment follows months of Pedro orbiting the Chanel universe, from attending Blazy’s debut collection at the Grand Palais to stepping onto the Oscars carpet this year in a striking jacketless Chanel look.

This announcement came with perfect timing. Pedro has become one of the most closely watched men in both film and fashion, and Chanel clearly knows it. In a statement shared in coverage of the announcement, Pedro said he loves Blazy’s vision because it feels “powerful, elegant, and incredibly warm,” adding that he is “happy and honored” to join the house and excited to be part of its evolving story.
Blazy’s own words made the pairing feel even more personal. He described Pedro as “a wonderful man and an incredible actor,” and praised his kindness, talent, and worldview while welcoming him into the Chanel family. It’s the kind of endorsement that makes this feel bigger than a standard celebrity-brand deal. This is Chanel aligning itself with Pedro’s particular mix of charisma, warmth, and cultural magnetism and, honestly, it makes perfect sense.

It also signals something interesting about where Chanel is headed. Even without a formal menswear line, the house has been steadily building a roster of high-profile male ambassadors, and Pedro’s addition feels like one of its sharpest moves yet. He brings movie-star presence, internet-beloved charm, and the kind of effortless style that makes even a single fashion appearance feel like an event

Pedro Pascal Joins Effort Opposing
Paramount-Warner Bros. Merger
Pedro has added his name to the growing push against the proposed Paramount-Warner Bros. Discovery merger. On Tuesday, Pedro and fellow Marvel star Florence Pugh joined more than 2,000 film and television professionals backing an open letter that warns the deal would further concentrate power in Hollywood and hurt both creators and audiences.
The letter argues that another massive studio merger could mean fewer opportunities for artists, fewer jobs across the industry, higher costs, and less choice for viewers. Pedro’s involvement places him among a long list of high-profile actors, filmmakers, and creatives calling for regulators to take a harder look at the proposed deal and what it could mean for the future of film and television.
CinemaCon Delivers First Look at The Mandalorian and Grogu
CinemaCon debuted the film’s opening sequence, throwing us straight into the action. Mando takes on Imperial loyalists in a snowy stronghold, while Grogu steps in with the Force in bigger ways than we’ve seen before. We were also given the final trailer, centered on the line, “The old protect the young, and then the young protect the old.” It already feels like a film-worthy, epic Star Wars story.

A Quick Behemoth! Check-In
During CinemaCon, Searchlight teased its upcoming slate and slipped in a quick but exciting update. Behemoth! is officially in post-production, quietly moving along as one of the projects to keep an eye on.

Avengers: Doomsday Is Going Big
CinemaCon gave a major preview of Avengers: Doomsday, teasing a massive crossover moment with the Fantastic Four and the Avengers, including a meeting with Thor. Robert Downey Jr. appears as Doctor Doom, who is already being positioned as a serious threat, with Thor calling him the most dangerous threat he’s ever faced. Early footage shows a darker tone, with Doom effortlessly stopping Thor mid-attack, while glimpses of Pedro as Mister Fantastic add to the scale of what’s coming.
The film is also set to debut Disney’s “Infinity Vision,” a premium theater experience designed to enhance scale, brightness, and sound, rivaling IMAX. Everything about this is aiming for a true big-screen event.
Unfortunately, Pedro was not in attendance as many had hoped, as he is currently filming De Noche in CDMX with night shoots underway. Honestly, we’re glad he’s not being stretched thin.
Early Buzz Is Already Loud
Speaking of Doomsday, early internal test screening reactions are already starting to surface, with reports calling it one of the best MCU films yet. It’s still early, but the excitement is clearly building, and if this momentum holds, we could be in for something really special. We cannot wait.

Javi Opens Up in a Personal New Interview

In a new interview with El Dinamo, Javiera reflects on her journey and the path that led her to become a key voice in global television. From her early career to helping shape international projects, she speaks candidly about the choices and experiences that guided her along the way.
She also touches on the evolving landscape of streaming, the importance of reaching younger audiences, and her approach to storytelling across cultures. She even shares that she would love to one day make a film with Pedro and Lux, which…we’ll be thinking about for a while.
It’s a thoughtful, insightful read and one that only further cements our admiration for her and the work she continues to do.
Read it here (you may need to use Google Translate).
Lux’s Latest Heads to Tribeca
Lux’s upcoming film Guerra de Verano (Summer War) will premiere at the 2026 Tribeca Festival (June 3–14) in the International Competition. Directed by Alicia Scherson and based on Roberto Bolaño’s El Tercer Reich, the film follows a war game player in 1989 Chile whose obsession begins to blur reality.
Lux plays Ingrid, his girlfriend, as their relationship strains against his growing fixation, set against the country’s transition from dictatorship to democracy.
It’s a major moment for the project and an exciting spotlight for Lux on an international stage. We’ll definitely be watching this one. Thinking about attending and showing Lux your support? For more information on the Tribeca Festival and ticket details, click here.
Pedro’s Vintage Finds (and Future Holes)
Pedro stopped by REvolver in Mexico City and what started as a casual visit turned into something more meaningful. Three days after his first stop, he returned with friends on a mission, searching for pieces tied to his own history, including a shirt connected to his very first rock concert.
The shop hinted at what he picked up and even shared an Axl Rose shirt. And honestly, given his track record, we can only assume it’s already on its way to becoming another well-loved, well-worn favorite. His yellow “new old” shirt has already seen plenty of life (and plenty of holes), so this one feels like it’s just getting started.
It’s one of those full circle moments that feels both personal and a little bit magic. And of course, they’re still keeping the full haul a secret.
De Noche Filming Nears the Finish Line
Filming for De Noche appears to be winding down, with reports of long night shoots continuing in Mexico. The production has most recently been working out of the Hacienda Molino de Flores, where filming took place last week and is said to have wrapped at that location.
We’ve also been continuing to add photos and videos to our Google Drive and posting on our Instagram accounts as things come in, including recent moments of Pedro being gifted with Mexican candy, warmly greeting fans, and even autographing a painting.
It’s been a busy stretch, and while details remain limited, everything points to the project steadily moving toward its next phase. We’ll be keeping an eye on what comes next.
The Mando Press Begins
Press is starting to trickle out, and we’ve begun gathering it all in one place for you. We’ve already gotten a video from Fandango and Disney, and we’ll keep updating our running spreadsheet as more comes in. Here is the link.

📚 If Pedro’s Characters Had a Book Club…
What would they recommend? We have thoughts:
Joel (The Last of Us)
The Children of Men by P. D. James
A world worn down to almost nothing, where hope feels rare and fragile. He wouldn’t say much about it…just hands it over like it matters.
Din Djarin (The Mandalorian)
Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry
Honor, solitude, and unexpected family. He reads it in silence. This is the way.
Oberyn Martell (Game of Thrones)
The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas
Revenge, intellect, and a flair for drama. He’s quoting it, pouring wine, and making it feel a little dangerous.
Javi Gutiérrez (The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent)
The Princess Bride by William Goldman
He insists on reading your favorite parts to you. It’s an experience.
Frankie “Catfish” Morales (Triple Frontier)
Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer
Freedom, choices, consequences. He stares out a window after finishing it.
Agent Whiskey (Kingsman: The Golden Circle)
No Country for Old Men by Cormac McCarthy
He says it’s about understanding the world. It’s also a little unhinged.
Pero Tovar (The Great Wall)
The Odyssey by Homer
A warrior’s journey, monsters included. He respects the long road home.
Dave York (The Equalizer 2)
American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis
He calls it a psychological deep dive. Everyone else is… uneasy.
Reed Richards (Fantastic Four)
A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking
He’s halfway through explaining it before anyone can sit down. You leave smarter and slightly overwhelmed.
Richard (De Noche)
Nightwood by Djuna Barnes
Moody, complex, and quietly devastating. He recommends it like a confession, not a suggestion.
Alex Serian (Behemoth!)
The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath
Creative brilliance, emotional weight, and the cost of it all. He doesn’t say much about it…but you can tell it means everything.
Dieter Bravo (The Bubble)
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson
He’s read it. He’s lived it. He’s possibly still in it. Recommends it with intense eye contact and zero explanation.
Ezra (Prospect)
Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman
Lyrical, wandering, a little cosmic. He doesn’t just recommend it, he recites it like it means something more.
Harry (Materialists)
The Price of Salt by Patricia Highsmith
Desire, restraint, and the quiet tension of wanting more than you’re supposed to. He recommends it casually…but watches your reaction.
Last week we shared a list of books Pedro has recommended over the years, and we’d still love to hear from you. Have you read any of them? Did one stay with you or completely wreck you in the best way?
You can comment on our post or send a short reflection to [email protected] (subject: Pedro Reads Submission). There’s still time to submit (we’re procrastinators, too). We’ll be featuring responses during National Library Week (April 19–25) as part of a special community post celebrating books, libraries, and the stories that connect us.

Artist Highlight: Raindro Day 6 💜
For Day 6 of Raindro, artists embraced the theme Purple with so much creativity, heart, and beauty. It felt special because Pedro loves purple…and honestly, so do we. From dreamy shades of lavender to rich violets and deep plum tones, the artwork shared for this theme was stunning and full of personality. We’re so happy to spotlight a few of the talented artists who took part and brought Purple to life in such gorgeous ways. Make sure to check out #raindro2026 to see even more incredible entries.

A New Bounty Has Entered the Galaxy: Two Brews - One Way
Bones Coffee dropped a Mandalorian and Grogu inspired collection, and yes, we’re paying attention. Beskar Brew brings those warm, rich notes that feel like a comfort win in a cup, while Cantina Caramel Crunch leans sweet and nostalgic in the best way. Both feel like they were made for slow mornings or powering through long ones.
And then there’s the Bounty Hunter Bundle Collector’s Box, which pulls both flavors together in one sleek set that feels just a little too easy to justify. Add in the themed mugs and suddenly your coffee routine has fully committed to the bit.
The K-Cups may already be sold out (of course they are), but the ground coffee and bundle are still available…for now. And honestly, that feels like a limited window. Take our money.
Take My Money: The Theater Merch Is Already Calling
Tickets for The Mandalorian and Grogu are officially on sale, and somehow the theaters said…let’s make this even more dangerous for our wallets.
Multiple chains are rolling out full collectible lineups, and they did not hold back. Regal is leaning all the way in with options like the Clan of Two bust popcorn container (yes, it lights up and plays music), an AT-AT popcorn bucket complete with sound effects and light-up features, and a full collectible combo with themed drink toppers.
Cinemark is also joining the mission with a Super Ticket package, bundling your ticket with a Grogu pin, collectible cup, drink, and popcorn. Because apparently just seeing the movie was never going to be enough.
From popcorn buckets to cups to prints and bundles, this is feeling like a full event rollout, not just a movie release. And honestly…we’re already planning what we’re getting before we even get to the theater.
Tickets are live, the merch is ready, and yes. Take. Our. Money.
The Mandalorian and Grogu Score Arrives Early
The music is coming sooner than expected. Ludwig Göransson’s score will hit digital platforms on May 15, with a full vinyl release following June 5. There’s also a limited helmet-shaped edition dropping May 22, featuring two new score cues. Yes, we will all be pretending we’re collectors.
