May the 4th Be With You: The Stories We Carry Forward
There’s something about hearing Pedro talk about Star Wars that reminds you why it matters.
“My fondest Star Wars memory was finally getting tickets to see Return of the Jedi in the movie theater. I think there were maybe, like, 5 attempts and my heart kept on getting broken each time I was told it was sold out. Until we finally got tickets. And I stared at the poster and I knew that I was finally going to get to see the movie and that my life was gonna change.”
That young boy standing in front of that poster had no idea just how true that would be.
Fast forward to late 2018, when Pedro was cast as Din Djarin in The Mandalorian. His life did change. After years of building, and after Game of Thrones brought wider attention, it was Star Wars that connected him to something global, something lasting. Going from that kid staring at a poster for Star Wars: VI - Return of the Jedi to seeing The Mandalorian come to life and now onto the big screen, feels like a full-circle moment in the most real way. He’s said he always dreamed of seeing it there, and what he’s seen so far has made his “mouth drop,” with the hope that it will feel just as big and impactful to a new audience as it did to him that first time in a theater.
“I was born in ’75 so I am a product of a Star Wars imagination. I was shaped by these movies.”
And honestly, so are we. No matter where we’re from or when we found it, Star Wars has a way of reaching across generations and around the world, and somehow leaving the same mark.
From the quiet, powerful resistance in Andor to the found family at the core of Star Wars Rebels, these stories have shaped how we see the world. They gave us Princess Leia, who showed us strength, leadership, and compassion without compromise. They have us joy, too, highlighting the part of us that wanted to take an Ewok home, the instinct to protect and cuddle Grogu without hesitation…and yes, the ongoing fandom debate about how Poe Dameron (and his thick ass, respectfully) fit into the Millennium Falcon pilot seat.
And let’s be real, they also gave us our fair share of crushes. Pedro has openly talked about having a crush on Harrison Ford growing up, and frankly? Same, Pedro, same... Same.
And through it all, no matter how many years pass, how many new stories are told, or how many times we collectively say, “Somehow, Palpatine has returned,” we keep coming back.
And maybe that’s why we stay. Because we didn’t just watch these stories. We grew up with them. We carry them. We were shaped by them. We are Star Wars fans, not just for a moment, but for a lifetime.
Somewhere, someone is having their first Star Wars moment right now. Just like Pedro did. And just like him, they may not realize it yet, but it might change their life, too.
May the 4th be with you. Always.

Cover Watch: May Issue

Din and Grogu are everywhere right now. Cinemanía, a premier Spanish monthly film magazine based in Madrid, features The Mandalorian and Grogu on its May cover, highlighting the duo at the heart of the story.
And they’re not stopping there. They’re also gracing the cover of L’Écran Fantastique, continuing the global spotlight as anticipation builds for the film.
Two covers, one duo, and a whole lot of excitement for what’s coming next.
On the Scene: Lux in New York

Lux attended the Stella McCartney x H&M celebration in New York on April 29, stepping into a night that blended fashion, music, and a sense of full-circle history. The event marked a revival of McCartney’s iconic collaboration with H&M, reimagining archive pieces with a focus on sustainability and innovation.
In the Spotlight: Javiera

Javi is having a major moment with the global debut of The House of the Spirits on Prime Video, bringing Isabel Allende’s iconic story to audiences around the world. In a recent interview, she opens up about the excitement (and nerves) of launching such an ambitious project, and what it means to champion Latin American storytelling on a global stage.
She also shares a more personal insight, reflecting on how Pedro can sometimes zero in on negativity more than she does, joking that she lives in a different bubble. It’s a candid look at how fame comes with a darker side, and how not everyone is going to love you, which is something she says runs in the family.
It’s a thoughtful, insightful read and a reminder of the impact she’s making behind the scenes. The article is in Spanish, but Google Translate does a great job if you need it.

Throwback: Fire Meet Gasoline
Sia celebrated 11 years of the Fire Meet Gasoline music video on Thursday, featuring Pedro alongside Heidi Klum, and it’s the perfect excuse for a rewatch. The cinematic short still holds up as it’s moody, intense, and layered with that quiet magnetism Pedro brings to every role.
And the story behind it? Very Pedro. Back in the early 2000s after moving to Red Hook, he became friends with Jennifer Love, often babysitting her daughter at a coffee shop on the corner. Years later, during a break from filming Narcos, she suggested him for the video. Add in a neighbor connection to Heidi, and it all came together.
Sometimes the most memorable projects really do start that simply, especially when you show up for your community like Pedro often did and still does.
Soundtrack Watch: First Listen

The Mandalorian and Grogu (Boys Noize Remix) single dropped Friday, giving us our first taste of the film’s sound ahead of the full soundtrack release on May 15, with the movie arriving in theaters May 22.
The visuals lean into that neon, cinematic feel, perfectly matching the tone of Din and Grogu’s world. If this track is any indication, we’re in for something special.

Pedro Pascal and Jon Favreau Surprise Fans
at CCXP Mexico 2026

Pedro and Jon Favreau brought the galaxy far, far away straight to Mexico City with a surprise appearance at CCXP Mexico 2026, where they promoted the highly anticipated film The Mandalorian and Grogu.
The unexpected moment turned into one of the convention’s biggest highlights, as Pedro and Jon appeared before a packed crowd of fans to celebrate the next chapter of Din Djarin and Grogu’s story. The audience was treated to exclusive footage from the upcoming movie, giving fans a first look at how the beloved Disney+ series is making the jump to the big screen.
For Pedro, the appearance was visibly emotional. He spoke about how meaningful it feels to bring The Mandalorian from television into cinemas, especially as someone who grew up with the magic of Star Wars on the big screen. Jon also teased the film’s larger scale, with the story continuing to explore the bond between Din Djarin and Grogu as they step into a new era together.
The surprise visit marked a major promotional moment for The Mandalorian and Grogu, which is set to become the first new Star Wars theatrical release since The Rise of Skywalker in 2019. With Pedro, Jon, and Grogu all appearing together in Mexico, the panel gave fans exactly what they came for: emotion, nostalgia, and a reminder that this duo’s next adventure is meant to be experienced on the biggest screen possible.

May 4, 2026 — BBC’s The One Show
Pedro Pascal and Sigourney Weaver are listed/reported to appear on BBC’s The One Show on Monday, May 4, promoting The Mandalorian and Grogu.
IMAX “May the 4th” special-look events
Lucasfilm is hosting free special-look fan events for The Mandalorian and Grogu at select IMAX theaters worldwide on Star Wars Day. These will show more than 25 minutes of exclusive footage, with giveaways and surprises.
Where in the World Are Grogu & Din? 🌍
The global tour is officially underway, already making stops in Mexico and Madrid, and tomorrow (May 4) it lands in Berlin for a special Star Wars Day Fan Celebration.
Berlin is getting a true galactic moment, with filmmakers and cast expected to attend. Free fan-area tickets have already sold out, making this one of the biggest early promo stops ahead of the film’s theatrical release.
From there, the tour continues across the globe with stops in Paris (May 5) and London (May 7), with more to come. Los Angeles is set for May 14 and Tokyo on May 19, with New York City still to be announced, though we’re thinking NYC will likely land somewhere before those final stops. It’s a full-on international rollout bringing the film straight to fans, and we’ll be watching every stop.
Pedro’s Next Role Just Got Very Interesting
According to Screen Daily, Pedro is set to play Dr. Abraham Weiss in Park Chan-wook’s The Brigands of Rattlecreek, an enigmatic figure who is “hell-bent on revenge” and teams up with the sheriff to take on a gang of bandits.
And listen…we’re not saying we somehow ended up reading what feels like an older draft of this story…but we’re also not not saying that 👀
From what we’ve seen (purely for research purposes, of course), this role is very much in Pedro’s wheelhouse. Abraham Weiss is quiet, intense, and carrying a whole lot under the surface, the kind of character who doesn’t say much but makes you lean in anyway. If this is even close to what we’re getting on screen, it’s going to be one of those slow-burn, “oh, he’s actually terrifying” performances that sneaks up on you in the best way.

Few stars have had a career as meteoric as Grogu’s. From stealing scenes across the galaxy to becoming one of the most recognizable faces in pop culture, the tiny actor has remained famously private - until now.

Final verdict: Patu.

Artist Highlight: @merpyzstar
This week’s artist spotlight goes to India, aka @merpyzstar, a self-described “professional doodler” whose Pedro Pascal-inspired work is full of warmth, softness, and personality. Her style has that charming storybook feel - expressive faces, cozy color palettes, and just enough Disney-like magic to make every piece feel instantly lovable.
Her recent Raindro 2026 artwork captures Pedro with a playful, sunny energy, blending sweetness and humor in a way that feels both polished and deeply personal. If you love fan art that feels gentle, joyful, and made with real affection, her page is absolutely worth a follow.

Take My Money: It’s (Finally) Happening

We teased this in the last issue, and it looks like today’s the day. The Mandalorian and Grogu collection is expected to be officially announced, and now we’re getting a clearer look at what’s coming.
From the “Force Flow” body care to Grogu-inspired accessories (yes, the ears are part of the design), everything leans into that perfect mix of cozy and collectible. And the packaging? Fully display-worthy.
It’s giving treat yourself…and, we already know how this is going to go.
This Is the Way… to Clip Your Hair
This Mando hair clip by Studio Nena is the kind of fandom piece that actually fits into real life and still makes a statement. Subtle enough to wear out, but instantly recognizable to anyone who gets it.
At 3 x 2.5 inches, it’s a solid size for medium to long hair, so it’s not just cute, it’s functional. And the fact that it’s made of cellulose acetate means it has that durable, glossy finish that holds up way better than your average plastic clip.
It’s giving practical, it’s giving fandom, it’s giving “this is the way” to keep your hair up.
Absolutely no notes. Buy it Here💸
