Welcome to The Pascal Pulse

Over the past year, The Pascal Pulse has become so much more than a newsletter for us. It has become a place where we get to share the latest Pedro news and celebrate the incredible community that has grown around him. Week after week, we've had the privilege of highlighting the people who make this fandom such a fun, creative, and welcoming place to be.

We’ve highlighted well over 52 artists, introduced readers to fan owned businesses and creators, and even put together a Christmas shopping issue focused mostly on fan run stores. We also got to celebrate the creativity that comes out during Pedrotober and Raindro, which gave us even more reasons to stare at beautiful fan art and wonder how people are this talented.

We’ve shared fundraisers, helped spread the word when community members were facing medical challenges, and watched people show up for each other again and again. We were also grateful to be one small part of helping bring attention to a fan who was too sick to attend a chance to meet Pedro. So many people helped amplify her story, and seeing it eventually lead to her receiving a video from him was genuinely special.

Having fans reach out to us when they need help sharing something, finding support, or getting eyes on a situation is never something we take lightly. It is an honor that people trust us with those moments.

Pedro may be the reason most of us found each other, but the people here are the reason so many of us stay.

The artists, the writers, the small business owners, the people making edits late at night, the fans sending encouragement to someone they have never met, and the ones quietly helping raise money when somebody needs it. Getting to feature even a small piece of that has meant more to us than we probably knew it would when we started.

We’ve also tried to keep up with everything happening in the Pascal family orbit, sharing updates not just about Pedro but also Lux, Javiera, and Nico.

Along the way, we celebrated Pride, Library Week, and mental health awareness. Library Week was one of our favorites. We had wonderful contributions, a guest library contributor (Christina 💜), and even book recommendations from Javiera herself, which still feels a little unreal to type.

We hosted giveaways, including a fan package and a donation to Planned Parenthood, shared ridiculous quizzes, asked “What Would Pedro’s Characters Do?” and yes, we are still wildly excited that Pedro liked a few of our posts.

One of the projects we are proudest of is Because You’re Here, our birthday magazine for Pedro. The idea was never to speak for the fandom. We wanted the fandom to speak for itself.

People sent artwork, letters, stories, and birthday wishes from all over the world. We had submissions from Iran, Germany, Venezuela, Türkiye, Japan, Cambodia, Australia, and so many other places. We squeezed in last minute entries, tracked down missing submissions, and did our best to make sure nobody got left behind. For some contributors, this may have been the closest they ever came to sharing something directly with Pedro, and that mattered to us.

Later, when we had the chance to meet him in person, he signed our copy and we talked about the project. (At least we think we did…we mumbled a lot about the project. Did it make sense? Who knows?!)

The moment he saw the cover, he lit up. We quickly realized we did not need to explain much. He already seemed to know what we were talking about and how it got to him and that made every late night, reminder post, frantic message, and last minute submission worth it. One of us even got a hug, which still feels a little unreal to say. By that point, every editor on The Pascal Pulse had seen him in person, which made the whole moment feel like a full-circle milestone for all of us.

We know people were hoping there might be a public acknowledgment of the magazine, and we completely understand that. It was made with so much love by so many people. But it reached him during an incredibly busy stretch, when he was moving from one thing to the next at a pace most of us cannot imagine.

For us, the most important part is that it reached him. Because You're Here was never about asking for anything in return. It was simply a way of showing what can grow from one person's kindness, work, and humanity, and how many lives have been touched because he was here. Everything after that is out of our hands, and we're simply grateful it made its way to him.

We also had a lot of fun along the way. We created The Midnight Invitation, an interactive choose your own path Halloween story, and then somehow survived Pedro Summer, with Eddington, Materialists, all the press, and the absolute international whirlwind Marvel tour for The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

Somewhere in between, there was always breaking news, another update, a new interview, a new appearance, or something else we all suddenly needed to talk about immediately.

And just when we thought we might catch our breath, we finally wrapped up The Mandalorian and Grogu world tour. So…are we finally heading into a slow season? We would not bet on it. We’ve been in this fandom long enough to know there’s never really a slow season anyway.

Two editorials we wrote about kindness, acceptance, and letting people define themselves on their own terms eventually found their way beyond the newsletter and were later stumbled on by Pedro on Instagram. That felt incredibly meaningful because those messages really mattered to us.

There were also plenty of nights when The Pascal Pulse was being finished long after the rest of our households had gone to sleep. There were forgotten links, breaking news, last minute edits, and more than a few “just one more thing” moments that turned into another hour.

Fifty two issues later, we are tired in the best way, really proud, and so grateful that so many of you have chosen to spend part of your Sunday with us.

We have always wanted this to be a place that makes room for people. The artists. The writers. The small businesses. The fans raising money for each other. The people who read every week, send us things, make us laugh, and remind us why this has become so much more than a newsletter.

Thank you for being here for this first year. We still cannot quite believe how far The Pascal Pulse has traveled or how many people have let us be part of their week.

And for anyone who wants to take a trip back through the past year, you can look through all 52 issues of The Pascal Pulse here.

Here’s to another year.

With so much love and gratitude for this first year, and for every one of you who has been part of it,

Maiev, Mel & Jackie

Pedro Steps Out for
Jackass: Best and Last Los Angeles Premiere

Pedro ‌showed ‌up ‌out of nowhere on the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of Jackass: Best and Last, slipping right into the mayhem of a night that’s being framed as the franchise’s last major farewell on the big screen. In L.A., the premiere pulled together a gloriously messy crowd, Jackass mainstays, famous friends, and longtime fans, all turning up to salute over twenty years of ridiculous stunts, reckless idiocy, and an odd but genuine sense of togetherness.

Pedro Was Almost in Jackass: Best and Last

Instagram post

Pedro in a Jackass movie? Apparently, we were so close.

Johnny Knoxville revealed that Pedro was supposed to appear in Jackass: Best and Last, but sadly had to miss filming after getting sick. No details were shared about what his cameo or stunt would have been, which honestly makes the whole thing even more painful for fans.

Pedro still showed up to support the movie at the Los Angeles premiere, where he was also spotted with Spike Jonze. A fitting reunion since Spike helped create Jackass and previously worked with Pedro on Apple’s AirPods commercial, “Someday

A Pedro Jackass moment would have been absolute chaos, and now it lives as one of the greatest “what could have been” fandom losses.

Instagram post

Kuma Theroux, an adoptable rescue dog whose dad is Justin Theroux, shared a hilarious Instagram caption announcing her very official, very not-written, unnamed movie project.

The film apparently has no script, no plot, no money, and no genre yet, but it does have Pedro, Rufus Sewell, Justin Theroux, and Kuma attached to star. We are seated.

Hidden Gem: SWEETS (2015)

If you've ever tried to watch every Pedro Pascal project, you've probably discovered that SWEETS is one of the hardest titles to find.

Released in 2015, SWEETS is a 90-minute independent drama directed by R. E. Rodgers and written by Rodgers, Ed Vassallo, and Paxton Winters. The film stars Sarita Choudhury alongside Pedro Pascal, Raúl Castillo, Kevin Corrigan, and Catherine Kellner.

Thanks to @peepawscal on X for pointing us to the excerpt shared by CircuitPity. Their caption notes that for inquiries, they can be reached at [email protected]. We also reached out to ask whether there is currently a way for fans to watch the full film. If we hear back, we'll be sure to share an update in a future issue.

Throwback

Do you remember this?

This was the editorial from the very first issue we ever published, the beginning of The Pascal Pulse. Looking back at it now feels almost surreal. What started as a small idea, a shared love, and a little spark of madness has grown into something we are truly proud of.

And now here we are, celebrating Issue 53, one full year of The Pascal Pulse.

Fifty-three issues later, we have built a space filled with news, joy, creativity, chaos, love, and a whole lot of Pedro Pascal appreciation. We have grown, learned, improved, laughed, stressed over deadlines, celebrated tiny victories, and somehow kept showing up, issue after issue.

Happy one-year anniversary to The Pascal Pulse. Here’s to everything we created, everything we survived, and everything still waiting for us in the next chapter.

Fan Highlight

Another little throwback from the very beginning of The Pascal Pulse.

June was one of the first people we ever highlighted, and it still feels so special to look back at this now. She has been here with us from the start, cheering us on, supporting our little project, sharing kindness, creativity, and love with this fandom every step of the way.

And she is still here. Still supporting us. Still part of this beautiful community. Still someone we adore so much.

As we celebrate Issue 53 and one full year of The Pascal Pulse, we also want to send so much love to every single person who has been with us since Issue 1 and even before that, when this was just an idea we were brave enough to try.

You helped us grow. You helped us keep going. You made this feel like something worth building.

Thank you for being here from the beginning. We love you.

Take My Money

For our one year anniversary issue, it felt right to make this week's Take My Money about something bigger than a new collectible.

Over the past year we've learned that fandom can be so much more than likes, headlines, or negativity. It can be friendship. It can be kindness. It can be people from all over the world looking out for one another.

One of those people is our friend Guelyury.

If you've spent time in this community, you've probably seen her cheering someone on, helping another fan, or asking, "How can we help?" Like our own Maiev, she's someone who quietly makes this fandom a better place. She's a busy mom living in Venezuela, where everyday life isn't always easy, yet she still finds time to support other fans and help run fan accounts.

This week, she reached out with one simple question. Not "Can you help me?" but "Can you help my country?" She was trying to make a post herself, but with limited internet access, she still found a way to get the word out while dealing with everything happening around her.

That really reminded us what this community is really about.

If you're able, please consider supporting the people of Venezuela through one of the organizations below. If a donation isn't possible, simply sharing these resources or helping amplify them on social media can make a real difference.

💜 Ways to Help

We Love Foundation & I Love Venezuela Foundation
Originally founded in 2013 as I Love Venezuela Foundation, the organization has grown into We Love Foundation, expanding its humanitarian work while continuing its mission to support Venezuela. Their emergency earthquake fundraiser will provide food, clean water, medical assistance, hygiene kits, temporary shelter, transportation, and direct aid to families through trusted nonprofit partners working on the ground.

World Central Kitchen
Provides fresh, chef-prepared meals to families, first responders, and communities affected by disasters around the world.

World Food Programme (WFP)
The world's largest humanitarian organization fighting hunger, delivering emergency food assistance, and supporting long-term recovery for communities in crisis.

Yummy
One of Venezuela's most-used delivery apps. If you have friends or family in Venezuela, or know someone who does, you can use Yummy to send groceries, meals, medicine, and other everyday essentials directly to them.

After a year together, we hope this is what people think of when they think about the Pedro Pascal community. Not the noise. Not the drama. Just people choosing kindness and showing up for each other. 💜

That’s it for this week!

Created by Fans, for Fans
