Every July, Disability Pride Month gives us a chance to pause and celebrate the disabled people in our lives, in our fandom spaces, and in our own community.

For many, disability is visible. For others, it is something carried quietly. It can be physical, sensory, intellectual, developmental, chronic, mental health-related, or part of being neurodivergent. Every experience is different, and every person deserves to be treated with dignity, access, and care.

This month also marks the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, signed on July 26, 1990. The ADA was a major step forward for disability rights, but Disability Pride is also a reminder that inclusion is something we have to keep choosing, in big ways and small ones.

Many of us are drawn to Pedro because of the heart he shows. He has spoken openly about anxiety, and fans often connect with his humor, sensitivity, compassion, and beautifully restless energy. Without putting a label on him, it is a reminder of how much it can mean when someone is allowed to be fully human.

And maybe this is something our community can carry with us, too. Fandom spaces bring together people with different experiences, needs, communication styles, and ways of processing the world. Sometimes that means people may miss cues, feel things intensely, need more clarity, or read situations differently than someone else. These differences can also bring incredible creativity, empathy, and new ways of seeing the world, inspiring the art, connection, and kindness that make fandom spaces so special. When we meet each other with patience, understanding, and care, we help create a space where everyone can feel safe, valued, and able to share what makes them unique.

To the disabled fans in our community, to the neurodivergent fans, to those living with anxiety, chronic illness, pain, or something others may not always see: you are valued here. To the caregivers, parents, family members, friends, and advocates: we see the love you give, too. And to those who are both, you belong in this conversation just as much.

This month, we hope you listen to disabled voices, support disabled creators, and help make the spaces around you a little more accessible and welcoming.

Pedro recently paid a visit to chancehightech, where Chance shared a few photos on Instagram of him after experiencing her signature Le Visage Lift Contour treatment. She thanked Pedro for his appreciation of her non-invasive technology, calling him "a legend, an icon" and saying he was "beyond awesome." The treatment is a non-invasive facial designed to lift, contour, and rejuvenate the skin.

After two straight days of paparazzi gym photos (📸 link to gym photos here — Warning: These are paparazzi photos.), longtime Pedro fans know what usually happens next. Whenever those gym photos start appearing, it often feels like something is brewing. Couple that with this facial visit, and now we’re really wondering if Pedro is gearing up for something.

Could a Behemoth! trailer be around the corner? Maybe as a teaser ahead of the Venice Film Festival in September? Is he getting ready for something connected to Avengers: Doomsday or San Diego Comic-Con, which runs July 23–26, 2026? Or is another event or announcement on the horizon?

Or...maybe he's simply treating himself before a well-earned vacation. If that's the case, Pedro, consider this our official request for a few beach photos. Hint, hint. Since some of us have either just celebrated our birthdays or are about to, we'd happily accept them as a collective birthday present.

July 1 marks a special anniversary in Fantastic Four history: the day Fantastic Four Annual #3 went on sale in 1965, giving Marvel readers the wedding of Reed Richards and Sue Storm.

The issue, written by Stan Lee with art by Jack Kirby, turned the couple’s big day into one of the most memorable events of Marvel’s Silver Age. Naturally, this was not a simple walk down the aisle. Doctor Doom tried to ruin the ceremony by sending villains after the Fantastic Four, while heroes including the Avengers, the X-Men, Doctor Strange, and Spider-Man showed up to help protect the wedding.

Reed and Sue’s marriage became one of the defining relationships in Marvel Comics, showing the Fantastic Four not just as superheroes, but as a family. More than sixty years later, their wedding still stands as a landmark comic-book moment.

One of the first pieces of promotional art for Avengers: Doomsday has surfaced, and while Doctor Doom is taking center stage, Pedro accidentally stole the funniest corner of the image. His spot appears to be partly covered by a “12 gift socks” sticker, giving major Mike Wazowski-on-the-magazine-cover energy from Monsters, Inc.

Donald Mowat has shared a new Instagram post featuring Pedro, Eva Victor, Coco Ulrich, and himself, calling it a mini Behemoth! reunion in Los Angeles.

The gathering appears to have taken place after Saturday night's special screening of The Invite, where Pedro made a surprise appearance to moderate a Q&A following the 35mm screening at the Vista Theatre. He joined director Olivia Wilde and star Penélope Cruz for the discussion before reuniting with members of the Behemoth! team later that evening.

In his post, Mowat reflected on the experience of working with the film's "extraordinary cast, company and crew" and encouraged fans to stay tuned for release details and screenings. The Tony Gilroy film stars Pedro, Olivia Wilde, Eva Victor, Jo Beth Williams, and Will Arnett.

Throwback: Pedro on the Early The Last of Us Set

Back in the summer of 2021, every tiny glimpse of The Last of Us filming felt like an event. We knew something special was being made, and fans eagerly held onto every behind-the-scenes photo and video we could find.

This clip, shared by original pilot director Kantemir Balagov, shows Pedro sitting in Tommy's pickup truck while learning a few words in Kabardian. Of course, Pedro immediately gravitated toward the swear words.

Also in the truck are Nico Parker and Gabriel Luna as they filmed the early outbreak scenes, when Sarah, Joel, and Tommy are trying to escape Austin.

Balagov later left the series over creative differences. He has said that some of the footage he directed remained in the finished episode, but because of the extensive changes and reshoots, he ultimately did not receive a directing credit.

Sometimes it's fun to look back at those first days, when we were all trying to piece together the story from little moments like this, long before Joel and Ellie became one of television's most beloved journeys.

Also, back on June 16, 2021, we got that fan photo of Pedro at a Calgary Best Buy wearing Kantemir’s Gucci overalls with his iconic purple Lakers shirt. Were they gifted to him by Kantemir, or did he borrow them and simply never gave them back? The photo killed us then, and knowing he wore them again years later only makes the overalls lore better.

We want to take a moment to thank every artist, small business, collector, creator, and fellow Pedro fan who has offered something for our Venezuela earthquake relief giveaway.

What began as an idea for a fundraiser raffle has grown into something a little different. To keep the project transparent, inclusive, and accessible, we shifted to a giveaway with a free entry option. Donations to verified relief organizations are still deeply encouraged and remain at the heart of this effort, but no one will be required to donate in order to enter or win.

That change has allowed this to become what we hoped it could be: a community effort where people can help in the ways they are able, whether that is donating directly to support people in Venezuela, offering a prize, sharing the posts, or simply helping get eyes on the organizations doing work on the ground.
